ARTIST NOTE: A good Deviant commented on this piece saying it reminds them of something they'd find in Myst. I don't think they expected that casual comment to bring back a flood of incredible memories I had of that game. I am honored that they think that. When Myst just came out I buried myself in the game and drew designs for my own game that I'd someday make I poured over the scenes and even jotted down the tools that they listed in their credits that they had used to make the game. THAT is why I started using Photoshop (I believe it was photoshop 3).
I had reconstructive surgery on my arm years ago and all I could think of was knowing a brand new unopened Riven box was waiting for me when I got home (my parents are so awesome) Years later I did end up becoming a game developer and I can point back to Myst with certainty and say that's when it all started (well Kings Quest and Monkey Island helped too )
It's kind of funny. If you check my home page here and read the story I made up for this character, or go to Patch Together (it's the same story) the way it's presented is also rather "myst like" It wasn't intentional but I'm glad I can see it now. This makes me want to see this as a toy even more now than ever.

So ya, now I'm off to find that game and relive it
